Bring the van to your site

The Scheie in MOTION eye van can park at your shelter, church or program.

The side of the eye van, painted with Philadelphia’s City Hall inside a big eye. Its door is open, with steps leading in.

Room to park

The van needs a parking lot or street parking near your building. It takes up 2 to 3 SUV-sized spots.

It is 26 feet long and 11.5 feet tall.

What a visit looks like

The van can check the eyes of up to 25 people in a day.

  1. People walk up

No one needs an appointment, and the screening is free.

  2. Their eyes get checked

Three or four people on the van team run its six stations.

  3. They get their results

An eye doctor joins by video, so each person hears what the checks found before they leave.

  4. Help after the visit

If someone needs more care, we help with insurance, free or low-cost glasses and a ride to their eye appointment.
